Esra Abaci Türk says that the expertise and availability of the M+Visión network caught her off guard when she became a Fellow in 2013. “Normally you have to do it yourself. You have to say, ‘I want to do this and my background is this.’ But here, they’re asking you these questions: ‘Who are you? What are you doing? What do you want to do?’ That’s wonderful. This network is occurring and you are in the middle.
Esra received her undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey in 2006. She went on to earn her MSc degree at Bilkent University in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, where she received the TUBITAK scholarship. Following her MSc, she joined the National Magnetic Resonance Research Center of Bilkent University, founded by Prof. Ergin Atalar, and earned her PhD . Esra worked as a full-time research and teaching assistant throughout her PhD, studying MRI safety, MR elastography, and B1 mapping techniques.
Of the rigors of the Fellows’ IDEA³ training, Esra says, “We are learning how you need to ask the question to understand the problem. There are lots of questions that you don’t have the answers to, and you have to handle them. I’m not saying it’s easy, but learning to ask questions is a very beneficial side for me.[/vc_column][/vc_row]
